Hello and welcome to my newsletter. It is my first newsletter, so thank you for your patience as I develop this new skill.
First of all, I hope you are all well and safe from the recent flooding. What a lot of rain we have had. I have been seeing flowers bloom on the trails that only bloom in the spring, lupine, phlox, and more. With the rain comes the water we needed so badly, but also with so much at once comes the dangers. So stay safe and watch out for road conditions. My heart is with those who are dealing with flooding.
This is a busy time right now, and I have been diligently working in my studio for a couple of upcoming shows that I will tell you about.
This Friday November the 6th at Blue Rain Gallery on Main Avenue (5pm-7pm), I will be in the 2nd Annual Invitational Exhibition: Be My Icon. The show will feature local and regional artists who will be exploring the concepts of icons, objects, and symbols that we hold sacred. Below is the image I will have in the show. At this time I feel greatly that we need the icon of peace to be present in our lives. The doe, a female deer represents that perfectly to me. They are nurturing of their young, gentile in spirit, and graceful. Even though they eat only plants, they exhibit such physical strength. And that strength can come out when they are protecting their young. But as a whole the doe is a symbol of peace for me. In this artwork, around the border I included smaller simpler symbols of peace, love, unity, gentleness, and kindness.
This show runs from the 6th through the 27th of November, so if you cannot make it opening night there will still be time to view the show.

And wait, wait, there’s more! I will also be in a show the Friday after this one. At Studio & Gallery on Main Avenue, the opening for “Gardening At Night”: Curated by Jenn Rawling will be November 13th from 5pm-8pm. This is a group show of seven artist and will run until November 22nd. With this theme I focused on the mystery that the veil of darkness brings in the night. It is a time that is so magical, a time where I feel more reflective of the self and life, a quiet time that opens up space for ideas, contemplation, messages from beyond, and the muse of hidden visions. All my work for this show is inspired by night life in nature. Things that fly and pollinate in the evening, magical beings who care for them, and symbols of connection show up here.

Thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter, and join me for any upcoming shows. May you have peace in your heart and joy in your life.
